Wake Forest’s Lewis, Clemson’s Sharman Named ACC Baseball Players of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Wake Forest junior corner infielder Kade Lewis has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week, while Clemson redshirt-senior left-handed pitcher Michael Sharman earned ACC Pitcher of the Week honors for games played April 13-19.
 
ACC Baseball Player of the Week
Kade Lewis, Wake Forest, 1B/3B, Jr. (Sartell, Minn.)
  • Led the Demon Deacons to a 3-1 week, including a series win at home against NC State.
  • Hit .714 (10-for-14) on the week, driving in 10 runs and scoring six times.
  • Reached base three times and drove in a run as the Demon Deacons beat No. 7 Coastal Carolina on Tuesday, April 14.
  • Hit .800 (8-for-10) in three games against the Wolfpack, driving in nine runs and launching three home runs.
  • Posted multi-hit performances in all four games, including three hits in the final two games of the series.
 
ACC Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Michael Sharman, Clemson, LHP, R-Sr. (Woodstock, Ga.)
  • Threw 8.0 innings to lead the Tigers to a win at No. 9 Virginia on Friday, April 17.
  • Allowed just six hits and one intentional walk while holding the Cavaliers to one run.
  • Threw 76 of his 100 pitches for strikes and struck out seven Virginia hitters.
  • Becomes the first ACC student-athlete to earn multiple ACC Baseball weekly honors this season.
